Mark and Wendy look forward to welcoming you to Chili Joe’s, small, twenty seat restaurant in the old Le Bistro location on Petaluma Boulevard South. We are serving up spicy, comfort food including chili, burgers, and franks. We also have ice-cold beer and local Sonoma County wines.
Mark has been cooking for 38 years and has been cooking in Petaluma since 1994. Mark was French-trained at the famed Stanford Court Fournou’s Ovens in San Francisco on Nob Hill and worked there for nine years. Locally, he worked as the banquet chef at the Sheraton Hotel in Petaluma. Even though he is an expert in fine dining cooking, he loves to make comfort food that is classic, fun, and affordable. He is finally realizing his dream of owning his own restaurant.
Wendy is a third-generation Petaluman who is a school teacher by day. She and Mark held chili cook-offs at the Moose Lodge for several years running. They longed for the nostalgia of local chili places like Ingram’s Chili Bowl in Santa Rosa and Milli’s Chili Bar here in Petaluma. Old-time San Franciscan’s will also recognize the hot dog on the menu that is an homage to Doggie Diner hotdog. SoCal expatriates will be excited to discover our chili cheeseburger that rivals a well-loved favorite. Even though you can get chili on just about everything at Chili Joe’s, we also have some chili-free items. We also offer gluten-free and vegan options.
Chili Joe’s is using local purveyors and products: Franco American Bakery, Willie Bird turkey, locally sourced non-GMO/antibiotic free meats, eggs from Petaluma Farms, Andy’s Produce, Petaluma Creamery Cheese, and Clover dairy products.
